Bachata Sensual Fundamentals

Fundamentals Course — For Dancers With 4+ Months of Experience

 

Our Fundamentals Course is created for dancers who already have at least four months of bachata experience and who know the essential basics needed for confident social dancing. This course focuses on refining your technique, strengthening connection, and building a solid, clean foundation for more advanced partnerwork and styling.

 

Prerequisites — You Should Already Know:

Basic Musicality

- How to find and dance on “1” and “5”

- Staying on time throughout a song

 

Basic Connection Techniques

You should already be familiar with maintaining connection in the main partnerwork positions:

- Open

- Social (basic)

- Close

- Shadow

- Manton

- Cradle

- Open cradle

 

You should also understand the basic transitions between these positions.

 

Sensual Bachata Basics

Participants are expected to know and be able to lead/follow essential sensual movements, such as:

- Waves

- Sidewaves

- Chest roll

- Hip roll

- Hip swing

- Body roll

 

This course is ideal for dancers who feel comfortable with the basics but want to polish their technique, gain more confidence in connection, and develop cleaner, more intentional movement before progressing to higher-level material.
